Candy Crush - Color Bombs

Special candies in Candy Crush each have their own special effect and are created by special formations. The different special candies you can make in Candy Crush are the striped candies, wrapped candies and color bombs. Here we will tell you all about these Candy Crush special candies, including how to make them and how to use them to reach your goal and beat all the levels of Candy Crush.

What is a color bomb?
A color bomb is the black chocolate ball covered in rainbow sprinkles.

How do you create a color bomb?
You can create a color bomb by matching 5 candies in a row.

What does a color bomb do?
When a color bomb is swiped with a regular candy, it will clear all the candies of the same color from the board.

  • For each color bomb you form, you earn 200 points.
  • Earns you 200 points when formed
  • Unlike a wrapped candy of a striped candy, a color bomb is automatically activated once you try and move it, even if it doesn’t match with three candies of the same color.

How is a color bomb useful?

  • A color bomb is the hardest special candy to form but also the most useful! Since it can clear large amount of candies that aren’t in its vicinity. It’s great for opening up moves, fulfilling order levels or clearing an isolated candy that’s contained in a piece of jelly.

Candy Crush - Obstacles

In Candy Crush, there can be obstacles (or “blockers”) that prevent you from clearing candies! Some of these can be taken care of with one move but others are trickier!

Keep reading for a guide on how to clear each obstacle!

Chocolate

Chocolate is a blocker–some boards will begin with a certain number of chocolates. For every move made that does not crush a chocolate, a new chocolate will spawn.

Chocolate Fountains

Chocolate Fountains don’t appear until level 156 but when they do, watch out! These machines will regenerate chocolate, even if you’ve cleared the whole board!

Bombs

Bombs are colored like candies and can only be cleared through a 3-candy combo or if affected by a special candy. The number on the inside indicates how many moves you have to clear the bomb. If you don’t clear the bomb in the number of moves, the game is over and you lose a life.

Licorice

Licorice Swirls (or blocks), like chocolate, take up space on your board where you could have candies. They are fairly easy to clear, though, you just need to make a move next to the block.

Licorice Xs

AKA Locked Candies prevent you from moving the candy inside. In order to clear a licorice X, you need to use a special candy or to make a combo of a candy with the same colors WITH the X’d candy.

Meringue

A meringue is often mistaken for whipped cream. This white, fluffy blocker is the easiest to clear–either make a move adjacent to it or have a special candy make a combination that affects it.

Multi-layered Meringue

The original, fluffy meringue (or whipped cream), only needs one move to be cleared. In higher levels, it gets increasingly difficult to clear the meringues as they gain more layers. Worse yet, there are often double jelly layers contained under the meringues. In the .gif above, you’ll see a five layer meringue–which requires seven moves to clear, five to get through the meringue layers and two more to clear the jelly.

Marmalade

Like Licorice X’s, candies can be contained within a piece of marmalade. Also like Licorice, you can free the candy by making a combination with the candy within the marmalade or if you make a combination next to the enclosed candy.

Candy Crush Saga Cheats, Tips and Tricks - Ingredient Levels

Candy Crush Saga guide for challenging ingredient levels. In a Candy Crush ingredient level you must bring down the special ingredients to the bottom of the screen to make them disappear. This Candy Crush Saga Guide will help you with Candy Crush hints and tips to get rid of these bothersome fruits on your board!

One of the main things to remember with Candy Crush Saga ingredient levels is that the main focus is to push down the ingredients towards the exit holes (marked by a green arrow
).

How to Bring the Ingredients to the Bottom in Candy Crush

1. Notice how many fruits you need to bring down.
On the left or top side of your screen there will be the fruit or nut icons with the number of ingredients in that level that will need to be pushed down. Not all ingredients will appear on your screen at once, sometimes, only after you push the first round down.

2. Candy Crush Ingredient Level Tip 2: Remove the licorice swirls at the start.
In later levels to unlock the locked candies and prevent ingredients from being blocked, you’ll need to clear obstacles or blockers, this will allow the cherries to exit at the bottom.

3. Candy Crush Ingredient Level Tip 3: You may have to sacrifice.
Sometimes, special candies will prevent you from bringing ingredients down–don’t mind not using or losing some of your special candies in order to bring down the ingredients. That is okay since the objective of the level is to get rid of the ingredients primarily.

4. Candy Crush Ingredient Level Tip 4: Striped Candies are Best

Striped candies are your best bet for ingredients. Since a striped candy clears a whole row or column, they are an incredible asset when playing an ingredient level, as they can easily drop down an ingredient from the top to the bottom.

5. Candy Crush Ingredient Level Tip 5: Position Ingredients
If you can avoid having the ingredients on the very left side of the board when there are less tiles than the other rows this will be for the best. That position on your screen makes it more challenging to get rid of your ingredients.

Candy Crush Saga Cheats And Tips

Matching Three Candies Is Great, But Four Or More Is Awesome

Let's face it, matching three similarly colored pieces of candy is child's play. If you really want to boost your score, match four or five. Matching four generates a special candy that, when combined with two other pieces of the same color, eliminates a whole row. Five, on the other hand, produces a special candy that, when matched, destroys all similarly-colored pieces on the entire board.
Tip: Combine special candies for screen-clearing effects.
